Vintage Kitchen range top salt and pepper shakers with a pretty orange rose and trellis pattern, very retro kitchen chic. The underlying color is an off-white or bisque color. They are large, meant to be used by the cook in the kitchen, on the range or the cook top. They would look equally cute at the breakfast table in the kitchen nook. They both still have their corks and they are clearly marked "made in Japan". Their style puts them in the 1930s.
CONDITION: They are good shape, with no cracks or chips. There is crazing in the glaze, perfectly normal for ceramics of this age. I think it only adds to their shabby chic appeal.
SIZE: They measure 4 3/4 inches tall, and 2 3/4 inches wide.

SHAKERS: I lightly clean all my vintage salt and pepper shakers - however they are vintage, and some have been used over the course of their lifetime and may contain residue of salt or pepper. I try to eliminate as much of that as possible, but these items are often fragile in their decorations - most novelty shakers were not actually meant to be used so cannot be soaked or scrubbed. With original corks I leave them in, as to try and remove then could destroy them.
