Very attractive teacup and saucer from Stevenson, Spencer & Co. Ltd. of Longton, Stoke-on-Trent of Staffordshire, England. The bold pattern of apples and berries, typical of the fifties, is full of saturated color against a very white fine bone china white ground, and the edges are decorated with sponged gold. Very nice. The mark, which includes the words "Royal Stuart" dates this piece to the fifties.
This pottery had a very short life and only operated from 1948 to 1960 and thus is not well known.
CONDITION: Both tea cup and saucer are in excellent condition with no chips, nicks, or cracks or significant marks of any kind.
SIZE: The saucer is 5 1/2 inches wide and the cup is 2 3/4 inches tall.
