Zane Grey was a bestselling author, and writer of countless popular western novels. "Code of the West" was published in 1934, and features a story about a schoolteacher coming out west, and learns the ways of chivalry, honor, and courage. Subtitled "The Great Tonto Basin Abduction".
This is a first edition published in 1934 by Grosset and Dunlap, who were remarkable at the time for wanting to provide cheap editions of books so everyone could read. However they did this by printing already published works. They often came out with a popular book only a short time after the first edition by the original publisher, and this is a perfect example, reissued from the original first edition plates by Harper and Brothers.
CONDITION: Fine condition (i.e. excellent or 'tight') with the awesome original dust jacket picturing our young heroine riding a pinto horse with a couple cowboys. The inside is a blue cloth cover and is excellent. The pages are bright with practically no tanning at all. There is just a slight bit of chipping on the cover, specially on the top of the spine.
