Lovely set of gold salt and pepper shakers from Wheeling Decorating Company of W. Virginia. The Wheeling Dec. Co. did not make china, but bought china and glass from many different companies and then decorated it. They operated from around 1900 to 1962, and this particular pattern probably dates to the fifties. This particular shaker set has the a floral pattern of daisies and roses pattern of gold enamel over white bisque porcelain. The pattern is actually relief. Gold enamel would contain real gold. Lovely holiday gift, or wedding gift.
This set is unmarked, but often such small pieces would not carry the Wheeling mark.
CONDITION: Excellent with no chips, cracks, nicks or scratches. There are some scuffs on the gold around the bottom, and someone wrote on the white bisque with black grease pencil at one point and it won't wash off.
SIZE: 2 inches tall.
