Sweet little EAPG (Early American Pressed Glass) rosebowl by Northwood Glass. Northwood made the Finecut Roses pattern for a number of years starting in 1908, and this example is in custard glass with a nutmeg stain. Custard glass is the color of egg custard, and contains a tiny amount of uranium (considered quite safe) so that it glows green under a black or ultra-violet light.
This particular pattern, fine cut roses, seems to have only been used for rosebowls and a ruffled candy dish.
CONDITION: Very very good with only the faintest flake off one foot. Damage to the feet of these dishes is very common, and while this does have a small flake, the feet look good. This is a very good example of the Northwood Glass rosebowl in Finecut Roses in custard glass.
SIZE: 4 1/4 inches tall and 4 inches wide.
