This is an extraordinary find - a beautiful antique hand painted teacup and saucer made by premier pottery Minton China, which made exemplary table services with simple classic designs, and in this case hand embellished with gold, pink roses, and a blue motif that looks like a celtic knot to me. It is impressed with the simple 'MINTON' mark, which dates it between 1862 and 1872 and a date mark that more precisely proclaims the year of manufacture as 1866.
CONDITION: Cosmetically very good, but there is a very thin and hard to see hairline fracture in the cup. This is for show only, not to drink out of. It is priced accordingly.
SIZE: The cup is 2 3/4 inches tall, and the saucer is 5 3/4 inches wide.
