This fascinating copy of Screen Stories Magazine from October 1955 is loaded with great stars and great movies, including "Rebel Without a Cause" starring James Dean. This was Dean's iconic movie, and it came out (along with this magazine) in the month following his tragic death. On the cover is English actress Joan Collins, known for playing sultry temptresses in the fifties in Hollywood and later in the eighties for playing Alexis Carrington. In this issue they are featuring her movie "The Girl in the Red Velvet Swing" a highly fictionalized account of Evelyn Nesbit and the murder of Standford White by her husband.
Also featured is "To Hell and Back" starring Audie Murphy, and that's not all. This is really packed with stars issue.
Screen Stories, formerly Screen Romances, apparently, focused on short stories based on movies, as well as celebrity features and photos.
Sadly many of these magazines were mutilated for their covers and movie ads. This magazine is intact.
CONDITION: Excellent, hardly any sign of wear.
SIZE: It is a 8.5 inch by 11 inch format
