This is a stunning pitcher, American Three Mold Blown Glass style, in a sumptuous red orange or amberina color. The pitcher has an applied handle, and alternating sunburst and sawtooth pattern, and a pontil mark on the bottom. Traditionally this type of glass was made in the 19th century out of blown glass into a mold to try to recreate the look of cut glass. However this piece, which looks like pattern G III 5 from the Clevenger factory in New Jersey, would seem to be a 20th century reproduction because of the color. As far as I know this beautiful color was never used for the originals. However even reproductions seem rare, and this pitcher really is special.
