This beautiful salad plate was made by renowned English pottery Copeland Spode in May, 1943 (impressed date stamp) with the older Copeland Spode mark. The pattern is their very popular and long running "Indian Tree", which was made from 1879 right through to 1994. Indian Tree was inspired by early textile patterns from India, and features a stylized motif of flowering trees. The scalloped rim is also embellished with gold, and the glaze used has a very attractive iridescent sheen to it. Wonderful example of English porcelain.
This is the salad plate - I have more than one available. I also have teacups with saucers in this pattern. If you wish to purchase three or more message me for a bulk discount coupon.
CONDITION: Very good with no nicks, chips, cracks or scratches. The color is vibrant and fresh. However the glaze has crazing.
SIZE: 7 1/2 inches wide
