This cup and saucer, pattern 8263, seems to be a version of Colclough's beloved "Amoretta" pattern of red and white roses from the fifties and early sixties. The rose transfer is exactly the same except smaller, and the design has the addition of a lot of fancy gold scroll work and gold trim.
Colclough was founded in the 1890s and were proud makers of affordable but delicate bone china. In 1955 they merged with Adderley & Ridgway to become Ridgeway Potteries Ltd. You can see this in the mark, which has a lot of detail!
CONDITION: Excellent with no nicks, chips, cracks or scratches. The color is vibrant and fresh.
SIZE: The cup is 2 5/8 inches tall and the saucer is 5 1/2 inches wide.
