Pretty iridescent gold seventies carnival glass candy compote, diamond shaped pedestal bowl, by Indiana Glass in their earlier 1940s Pineapple Floral pattern.
Carnival glass was originally pressed and iridized glass produced in the US between 1905 and 1950. Iridization was a relatively inexpensive process and thus Carnival glass was cheap for the time - and mass produced, even given away at carnivals. However it was the last mass produced glass that was hand formed in the USA, and its beauty is unparalleled today.
In the seventies Carnival glass was reissued by some of the original glass companies, often with their old molds, but in new colors.
CONDITION: Excellent with no chips, nicks, or cracks. Some rough spots where the mold lines are.
SIZE: It measures just over 6 1/2 inches long and is 4 1/2 inches wide, and 3 inches tall.
