The Synthetic Philosophy of Expression by Moses True Brown Pub. Houghton Mifflin Company 1886

Sorry, this item has sold.

Moses True Brown was a professor of oratory, and a student of human expression. Drawing on Darwin and important philosophers Professor Brown wrote "The Synthetic Philosophy of Expression as Applied to The Arts of Reading, Oratory, and Personation". He was mentor to famous orators and actors. Great rare old book, published in 1886 by Houghton Mifflin Company.

This copy is interesting because it was a student copy and contains their original notes, as well as some newspaper clippings they found interesting. I would say this particular student was interested in acting.

CONDITION: Good, with some tanning and bumping. I would say 'very good' except that the newspaper clippings kept in the middle of the book caused some significant tanning on those pages. I don't mind this sort of thing as I find the notes from the student historically interesting, but I leave you to determine if the tanning bothers you.

SIZE: 5 inches by 7 1/2 inches.
