Fantastic rare old copy of Screen Play Magazine featuring Barbara Stanwyck on the cover in a beautiful illustration by Australian cover artist Henry Clive. This is the October 1931 issue, and it full of stories about the film industry, gossip, stories about Hollywood Celebrities, and lots of great vintage adverts. I can't even begin to list all the fantastic stories, photos, and reviews of the current crop of movies that were covered in this thick, well-printed vintage movie magazine.
I can't find much online about Screen Play magazine but it was one of the many star-studded movie fan magazines that proliferated in the era of Classic Hollywood when people were eager to fantasize about the lives of the beautiful people onscreen. This magazine has the quality of Photoplay, one of the finest titles. Magazines of this age are hard to come, especially in this good condition.
CONDITION: Very good with some minor wear and creasing, and bumping top and bottom of the spine. Someone also took a pencil and outlined a little of Barbara's face. Some tanning of the pages.
SIZE: It is a 8.5 inch by 11 inch format
