This blue and white teacup and saucer is a charming example of the classic Blue Willow pattern, this time by A. B. Jones & Sons of Stoke-on-Trent out of the Grafton Works, marked "Royal Grafton Bone China England". This mark dates the piece to the fifties. White and blue transferware over beautiful English bone china.
Willow pattern was modeled after classic Chinese ware that the English loved to import, but the actual pattern was created by Thomas Minton, and is supposed to represent a Chinese legend of lovers triumphing over adversity.
CONDITION: Excellent with no chips, cracks, and nicks.
SIZE: The cup is 2 1/4 inches tall, and the saucer is 5 3/4 inches wide.
