Beautiful Art Nouveau antique teacups and saucers from 1907 - produced by A.J. Wilkinson at the Royal Staffordshire Potteries in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England. This is the multi-color teal version of the pattern. The iris pattern is a blue/green transfer that has been hand painted embellished with yellow, brick, and blue over the transfer. The design really is pure Art Nouveau, and awesome. These are small teacups, sort of in between a teacup and a demitasse.
They are marked with a lion, crown, and banner logo reading: "Iris" Royal Staffordshire Pottery, Burslem, F. This mark dates to 1907. A. J. Wilkinson must have had really good taste, utilizing modern designs, and is famous for having employed Clarice Cliff.
CONDITION: Very good, but tiny fleabite chip on saucer rim.
SIZE: Cup is 2 1/4 inches tall and 2 1/8 inches wide, and the saucer are 5 inches wide.
