Such a classic motif from the forties/fifties - the crouching black panther, this time interpreted as salt and pepper shakers. They also look a lot like black cats, with painted green around their rhinestone eyes. Really awesome retro early mid century, made in Japan with red ware, and glazed.
CONDITION: Excellent with no chips, cracks, or nicks. Original corks.
SIZE: 5 3/4 inches long.

SHAKERS: I lightly clean all my vintage salt and pepper shakers - however they are vintage, and some have been used over the course of their lifetime and may contain residue of salt or pepper. I try to eliminate as much of that as possible, but these items are often fragile in their decorations - most novelty shakers were not actually meant to be used so cannot be soaked or scrubbed. With original corks I leave them in, as to try and remove then could destroy them.
