So much inside this delectable issue of Photoplay magazine, after it merged with Movie Mirror. The stunning cover is a photograph of Hedy Lamarr by famed photographer to the stars Paul Hesse. He pretty much defined glamour with his Hollywood portraits. Inside there is so much: great ads, articles, and star portraits of Deanna Durbin, Dorothy Lamour, Ronald Colman, and many more. This is the January 1943 issue of this movie magazine.
Photoplay was one of the earliest movie magazines, founded the same year as Motion Picture Magazine, and was in print from 1911 to 1980, and was once very influential, even creating awards that were to model the Academy Awards! It soon edged out Motion Picture for the biggest market share with its particular melding of 'light' gossip, photos, stills, the lives of the stars, and beauty and fashion tips.
CONDITION: Excellent condition with just light chipping.
SIZE: It is a 8.5 inch by 11 inch format
