Charming and very pretty teacup and saucer from Rosina of Longton, Staffordshire, England. It has an appealing floral pattern of wild roses in yellow and pink in transferware and then hand painted color. The flowers are beautifully detailed and identifiable by species. It is trimmed in gold. The mark dates it to the forties. It is marked 4999 which is its pattern number.
This is a wonderful addition to your teacup collection. Made in Longton, Staffordshire, England by Rosina (Queens) China Company.
The early designs of Rosina (1940s) to my mind are too often overlooked, and really quite lovely.
