Lovely English bone china teacup and saucer decorated with a bold motif of yellow and pink dog roses, and decorated in gold trim. Marked with the Paragon mark of the 1960s, when they were part of Royal Albert. You can definitely see the Royal Albert influence here.
The Paragon Warrant story: Queen Mary and other members of the royal family favored Paragon's lovely patterns for themselves and as gifts, and in April 1933 granted them a Royal Warrant. This is a royal favor for businesses that supply the Royal Family, and is a great boon for said businesses. Later they received one from Queen Elizabeth II. Altogether Paragon received 4 Royal Warrants, as well as several Royal commissions.
Paragon operated from 1919 to 1960, though their history stretches back to 1897 when they were the Star China Co. The sixties saw the company absorbed into other china companies. In the sixties they became part of Royal Albert
SIZE: The cup is 2 3/4 inches tall and the saucer is 5 1/2 inches wide.
