This striking brooch looks like a Victorian mourning brooch but it's not. It's marked W. Germany, placing date of manufacture from between 1945 to 1990 (though the style puts it at the earlier end of the range) and is formed of a gold toned metal like brass with filigree edges and set with a large piece of black glass, also sometimes referred to as French jet.
CONDITION: Very good - the glass is a little scuffed and the filigree is slight bent in places.
SIZE: 1 3/4 inches wide.
