A crisp photograph of a couple sharing breakfast on the morning after their wedding night, copyright 1903 by H. C. White of Bennington, Vermont. This antique stereoview shows the amazing clarity and quality that is typical of this publisher and photographer. The title of the view is "Their first meal is a delightful feast". On the wall is a sign that reads "Home Sweet Home".
H. C. White was one of the top stereoscopic studios of the day, only behind Keystone and Underwood & Underwood in output, but of much better quality. Hawley C. White's specialty was optical glass and he put this to amazing use in producing his views.
Stereoviews were once produced in large quantities, a form of 3D entertainment and a way for people to see exotic or interesting locales far from home using a stereoscopic viewer - like the stereoscope. They are two nearly identical views photographed from a single stereoscope camera with two lens.
